Biostatistician
University of Colorado Department of Orthopedics
I have a Master's of Science in Statistics from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Research Design and Analysis from the College of Charleston. I have extensive experience with advanced regression modeling, Bayesian hierarchical modeling in Stan, machine learning model development, developing S3 and S4 functions in R, & implementing heuristics and metaheuristics for optimization problems. I have also taught introductory statistics, applied statistical methods, and advanced biostatistics at the University of Wyoming and Front Range Community College. I have worked on research studies in the fields of orthopedics, gynecology, muscle physiology, hydration science, physics, and early childhood education. Although statistics is a field with an abstract definition, it is my personal belief that, no matter the complexity of the study, the statistical results and conclusions must be accessible to any person, not just those with the domain knowledge. Thus, it is my goal as a statistician to thoroughly analyze and model data in the most appropriate manner and to explain statistical analysis and conclusions in a comprehensible fashion.
