Dr. Kim Francis Andersen, MD, is Chief Physician and Team Leader for Pediatric Nuclear Medicine at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital. A specialist in sarcoma imaging, molecular oncology, and pediatric nuclear medicine, he serves as Chair of the Danish Sarcoma Group and Co-Leader of the Imaging and Radiomics Group in FOSTER (European Osteosarcoma Consortium.
Dr. Andersen’s research focuses on hybrid imaging with (LAFOV) PET/CT and PET/MRI biomarkers, radiomics, and AI-based imaging to improve precision diagnostics in sarcomas and rare pediatric cancers. His work in long axial field-of-view PET/CT and [¹⁸F]mFBG imaging for neuroblastoma has advanced safer, high-quality molecular imaging in children.
Actively involved in EEC, EpSSG, SSG, SIOPEN, SIOPE and NOPHO, he fosters European collaboration to optimize cancer imaging and care. Through leadership, innovation, and mentorship, Dr. Andersen strives for bridging clinical excellence and translational research to advance personalized oncology for both adults and children.
