Marius Michel is a Master's student of Medical Engineering at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. His research focuses on sarcoma biology, with a thesis analyzing cellular responses of different sarcoma cell types to ATM and ATR inhibitors in radiotherapy. He gained international experience through a Fulbright Globalink and DAAD RISE internship at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), Toronto, Ontario, Canada, developing fluorescence-based and Raman spectroscopy approaches for diagnosing breast and thyroid cancer. At Siemens Healthineers (Varian) in Forchheim, Germany, he investigated the reproducibility of Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) CT data in radiotherapy. His earlier clinical training at the University Hospital Erlangen covered neuroradiology and neurophysiology. As a scholar of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German National Academic Foundation) and the Max Weber program within the Elite Network of Bavaria, he is particularly interested in translational approaches that link engineering, cell biology, and cancer therapy.
