Pedro is a researcher and developer of applications with artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to healthcare. During his PhD, he explored accelerated brain aging using deep learning techniques applied to neuroimaging in Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Depression. He is currently a Machine Learning Specialist in the Genetics and Genome Biology department at The Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto). At SickKids, Pedro develops new techniques for the detection and discovery of cancer subtypes. His main project today is the clinical validation of an automatic diagnostic platform using RNA data.
