Merel van Dijk is a Master’s student in Medicine at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. During her undergraduate studies, she was selected for the Honours Programme in Medical Sciences, which provided the opportunity to conduct a six-month research internship at the Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego, under the supervision of Dr. Manikandan Murugesan and Prof. Jason Sicklick.
Her research focused on gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), specifically investigating the differential effects of the phosphodiesterase inhibitor anagrelide in KIT-mutant and SDH-deficient GIST subtypes.
