Team Leader
Children's Cancer Institute, Australia
A/Prof Fleuren established and heads the Sarcoma Biology and Therapeutics Group at the Children’s Cancer Institute, which is Australia’s first and only research laboratory solely focussed on sarcomas affecting the young. She holds a Conjoint Associate Professor position at the University of New South Wales, holds leadership research positions at Australia’s nationwide childhood cancer precision medicine platform; the ZERO Childhood Cancer Program (ZERO), and has over 13 years of international expertise in translational sarcoma research including the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Australia. A/Prof Fleuren’s program is comprehensive and unique, as it covers the complete bench-to-bedside pipeline to not only discover new and better treatments through innovative techniques (such as phosphoproteomics), but, through an extensive preclinical validation framework, truly translate new laboratory discoveries into treatment realities for young sarcoma patients.
