Dr. Chalothorn Wannaphut, MD, is a PGY-3 Internal Medicine resident at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawai‘i. Originally from Thailand, she earned her medical degree with first-class honors from Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok and went on to become a board-certified internist before continuing her training in the United States.
During residency, Dr. Wannaphut has developed a strong interest in Hematology and Oncology. She has presented her work at national oncology conferences and was recently honored with a Conquer Cancer Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), recognizing the impact of her research in advancing health equity. Through her ongoing involvement with ASCO, she remains committed to professional development and scholarly exchange.
Known for her diligence, motivation, and compassionate approach, Dr. Wannaphut treats every patient with respect and empathy, guided by the principle of caring for each individual as if they were family. Her career goal is to pursue fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology and ultimately become a leader dedicated to improving patient outcomes through both cutting-edge research and humanistic care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Wannaphut enjoys hiking, exploring natural parks, and meditation, which provide balance and renewal in her demanding profession. With her international background, rigorous clinical training, and dedication to equity in cancer care, she is committed to making meaningful contributions to the field of Hematology/Oncology.
