Co-Founder and Executive Director
Chordoma Foundation
Durham, North Carolina, United States
Josh Sommer is co-founder and executive director of the Chordoma Foundation, an organization focused on improving the lives of people affected by the rare cancer chordoma, and leading the search for a cure. With a sense of urgency prompted by his own chordoma diagnosis, since 2007, Josh has worked to build a global movement of patients, doctors and researchers to drive progress towards better treatments, better care and a better patient experience. Out of necessity, the Chordoma Foundation works relentlessly not only to advance high-impact research but to increase the speed and efficiency with which it moves. This has culminated in the emergence of a vibrant chordoma research ecosystem, and the translation of discoveries into more than ten clinical trials for chordoma patients.
