Dr Christophe BONTOUX is a medical doctor in Pathology at the University Institute of Cancer in Toulouse (IUCT-Oncopole), specializing in bone and soft tissue tumor. His research focuses on the molecular characterization and mechanisms of tumorigenesis in osteosarcoma.
After obtaining a Master's degree in Science at Tak Mak's lab in Toronto, Canada, he completed his MD thesis at Saint-Louis Hospital (Paris, FRANCE). He then served as an assistant professor in Nice, where he established tissue collections in the biobank côte d’azur and developed novel molecular biology techniques, particularly in the field of liquid biopsy.
He later completed a fellowship at the Institut Bergonié (Bordeaux, FRANCE), where he worked on molecular transcriptomic approaches in soft tissue tumors, with a focus on improving the characterization of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors and liposarcomas.
He is currently pursuing a PhD thesis on the mechanisms of tumorigenesis and dedifferentiation in MDM2-amplified osteosarcoma.
