Tata Memorial Hospital is the leading teaching institute running M.Ch Surgical Oncology program and has strong emphasis on teaching and research in the field of Oncology. After completing my residency program I pursued a one year specialized training in HPB oncology. I was appointed as full time faculty in 2016 after 2 year of Ad hoc lecturer post. After joining the department, we have succeeded in performing 100 liver resections annually and close to 200 surgeries annually for gallbladder cancer. In 2017,retroperitoneal sarcomas was recognized as a subspecialty and I have been one of the lead surgeons managing these tumors. A multidisciplinary tumor board was established in 2018 to standardize management protocols. It has been successfully running since its inception with close to 100 patients discussed annually. The number of resections have had a quantum leap and we have been performing 50-60 resections per year making Tata Memorial Hospital a centre for excellence. This has also be published in the esteemed Annals of Surgical Oncology journal. We are also a part of the Trans Atlantic AustraIasian Retroperitoneal sarcoma group (TARPSWG). I have been actively involved in various ongoing research projects and have over 175 publications in peer reviewed journals to my credit.
