Medical Student
University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
My name is Faaris Khan, and I am a third year medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine with a strong research interest in orthopedic oncology. Originally from Los Angeles, I completed my undergraduate studies at UCLA, where my exposure to musculoskeletal biology and surgical research inspired my passion for advancing cancer related orthopedic care.
At the University of Miami, my research focuses on improving postoperative outcomes for patients undergoing musculoskeletal tumor resection. I study how physical therapy, surgical reconstruction techniques, and patient reported outcome measures (PROMS) can enhance recovery and long-term function. Collaborating with orthopedic oncologists and multidisciplinary teams has deepened my appreciation for the balance between surgical innovation and patient centered care.
I hope to pursue a career in orthopedic oncology that integrates research, clinical excellence, and mentorship. My goal is to contribute to the development of evidence based strategies that improve quality of life and redefine outcomes for patients facing complex musculoskeletal tumors.
