Professor Surgery and Division Chief
Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery, University of California, Davis
I am a surgical oncologist and Professor of Surgery at UC Davis School of Medicine. My research focuses on mechanisms to target natural killer (NK) cells to the solid tumor microenvironment, especially in bone and soft tissue sarcomas. As part of this research, I have developed strong collaborations in canine immunotherapy and clinical trials in dogs with naturally occurring/ spontaneous cancers. My group is one of select labs internationally who are studying canine NK cells. Ultimately, my goal is to translate these studies to early phase clinical trials for canine and human patients with advanced bone and soft tissue sarcoma.
