Postdoctoral fellow
Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, UHN, Canada
I am a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. David Kirsch at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. My research focuses on epithelioid sarcoma (EPS), a rare but aggressive soft-tissue tumor driven by the loss of SMARCB1. To address the unmet needs of EPS, I am developing animal models that faithfully recapitulate the disease phenotype, as well as applying functional genomics approaches in human cell lines to uncover targetable therapeutic vulnerabilities. I earned my veterinary degree and later PhD at Hokkaido University, Japan. My previous cancer research experience includes MLL-rearranged leukemia.
