Dr. Mohammad Zokaasadi earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) in 2014. In 2022, he joined Duke University to pursue his passion for cancer research. Over the course of his career, he has developed expertise in preclinical cancer models, with a particular focus on 3D organoid systems that more accurately capture tumor behavior.
Dr. Zokaasadi is currently a member of Dr. Laurie Graves’s lab, where his work centers on understanding the biological adaptations of osteosarcoma, the most common bone cancer in children, following treatment with standard chemotherapies. His research aims to uncover how these tumors evolve resistance and to identify new therapeutic vulnerabilities that can be targeted to improve outcomes for pediatric patients.
