Dr. Rachel Livergant, MD, MBT, is a General Surgery resident at the University of British Columbia. She earned a Master’s in Biomedical Technology from the University of Calgary before completing medical school at the University of Alberta. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Global Surgical Care from UBC and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Queen’s University. Her research interests include global surgery, surgical equity, pediatric surgical oncology, and health systems innovation. She is committed to advancing equitable surgical care through clinical training, research, and initiatives that integrate cultural safety and social entrepreneurship.
