Medical Student
David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California Los Angeles
Kole Joachim is a third-year medical student at the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine, with a strong research focus at the intersection of orthopedic surgery, oncology, and data science. His work includes survival modeling of rare sarcoma subtypes using the SEER database and propensity score–matched analyses evaluating chemotherapy effects across tumor size strata. He has also applied advanced statistical and machine learning methods to large surgical datasets such as NSQIP and TriNetX to improve risk stratification in arthroplasty and complex orthopedic procedures. Through this work, he aims to bridge data-driven methods with clinically meaningful questions to support better decision-making in orthopedic care.
