Andrew Gelsomini completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami, earning a dual degree in Marine Science and Microbiology, followed by a Master’s in Biochemistry. He is currently a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, working in the laboratory of Dr. David B. Lombard, M.D., Ph.D. His research focuses on understanding metabolic and stress response pathways in cancer biology, with the broader goal of informing the development of targeted therapeutic strategies.
